The Corporate Transparency Act: Pulling Back the Curtain and Shining a Spotlight on Client Assets: The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) took effect on January 1, 2024. Despite the name, it has broad implications for our trusts & estates practices. The CTA is meant to pull back the curtain and shine a spotlight on client assets. The reporting obligations are significant and in some cases extend to professional advisors. This program will identify who the CTA applies to, what must be done and when to comply, and considerations and suggestions for both estate planners and trusts/estates litigators. Our speakers are estate planning partner Elizabeth Bawden, and estate planning associate Lilith Mansuryan, of Withers Bergman, LLP’s Los Angeles office.
