Marguerite Lorenz of Lorenz Private Trustees and Kurt Rifbjerg of the Talbot Law Group, P.C. will present this month’s topic on Professional Succession Planning for Attorneys and Fiduciaries. This presentation will cover legal, ethical, and practical issues in the termination and transfer of a law practice and fiduciary practice as well as discuss best practices for ensuring a smooth transition in the context of planned and unplanned practice transfers. Ms. Lorenz is a licensed private professional fiduciary who has served as a professional trustee and executor on over 100 matters and authored Ethics for Trustees. She transitioned numerous fiduciary appointments upon the death of her mother and respected private professional fiduciary, Jane Lorenz, in 2017. After practicing in San Diego for several years, Mr. Rifbjerg now practices in Walnut Creek and has extensive experience in probate, trust and conservatorship administrations and litigation.
